If you are driving to the Resort in the winter season, we strongly recommend renting either an AWD or 4WD vehicle. If you have a 2WD vehicle, we recommend keeping chains with you in the case of chain control during stormy conditions, which is common in the winter season. Practice putting your chains on prior to your journey to the Resort to avoid any unforeseen complications.

To keep up to date on road conditions, visit department of transportation websites ahead of your travels.

In the event of a storm, it is important to have an emergency kit in your car in the case you are stuck on the interstate. We suggest packing food, water, and ensuring your gas tank is full for your journey.

If you visit during a winter storm and use our self-parking lot, please be advised the resort will not offer snow removal. Please come prepared with your own snow removal tools, including a snow shovel and an ice scraper. If you're coming in from Truckee, Mountain Hardware and Sports will have everything you need to keep you safe during the winter.

The resort has its own shuttle that runs regularly to Palisades Tahoe Village and Alpine Meadows base.

TART (Tahoe Area Regional Transit) is available for free, and the resort shuttle can stop at those bus stops.

Palisades Tahoe has free shuttles back and forth between Village at Palisades Tahoe and Alpine meadows.

Excellent bicycle trail infrastructure to Tahoe City along the Truckee river. Beautiful ride and not strenuous.

It is a skiing/snowboarding paradise for anyone who loves these activities amongst other wintry fun. There was an ice skating rink on site, as well as a heated pool and hot tub.  There are also a few shops on site for your retail needs as well as a convenience store and cafe, with a few restaurants for a nice selection of dining options. The lobby is spacious with cozy seating and indoor games. Most amazing to me was the awesome access to the slopes! They stow your skis safely in a locker overnight, so you can retrieve them and hop on the resort chair right outside the lobby area. This grants you first row access to all the slopes of Palisades, to which you can shuttle if you didn’t feel like skiing/snowboarding over. Shuttle service allows you to honestly have a one stop shop with a stay at this resort. If only I could have stayed longer to enjoy the spa after a day on the slopes!!" (10/5)
